But I need a hero. Preferably someone who is willing to play someone descending into madness. Also, preferably someone who will name the hero Jack . . .

Crap, sorry Gingerben. I was stumbling around with an anarchic sense of 'what will this do' after a long day's work, and happened to thrust the pathetic dweeb Bob into your story. I'm not sure whether it's possible to remove/rename Bob, and if it is possible I've no idea how - dev team? kill Bob please? - but I'd be delighted to have a play through, whether as Bob or Jack...
I really have no idea what I'm doing either, so no worries. :) For some reason I'm not able to access my story at the moment, I think because no hero signed up. So I'm not sure what that guy Bob is doing . . . I don't think he's actually in the story. I have someone else who was interested in playing, but I'll send you the link as well and I guess we'll just go by who signs up first, cause it's been a couple days since he's talked to me and he hasn't responded. And don't worry about it if it ends up being bob in the story. This is as much a test run as anything. :) Looking forward to playing!
